In October of 2016 I last minute decided to apply for the 2017/18 Rotary Youth Exchanges. To my surprise I made it past the first interviews without my parents in town, when they were supposed to be at the interview, and had the second in November. A friend had also made it to the second stage of interviews and it was between the two of us for our towns choice. By obviously a number off I was chosen as their candidate, but the thought of her staying home for our last high school year, was soon over as well. She was soon called on as a candidate for another club! I have already been given so much by my Rotary District and sponsoring clubs. They've helped with many steps along the way. Now, I am one and a half months away from heading to Taiwan for 10 months. I attended a very wonderful dinner from one of my sponsoring clubs on Monday and recieved these wonderful flowers and a luttle gift to help my tavels. I have an amazing host family and am extremely excited for my first huge trip.
